Background.

New Life Solutions (NLS), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals facing unplanned pregnancies, approached Vers with a modest request: a 10-minute video interview for their upcoming Gala fundraiser event.

An Opportunity to Tell a Bigger Story.

As the team jumped into the project, conducting interviews and gathering footage, we stumbled upon a treasure trove of stories, experiences, and achievements within NLS. Additional research through newspaper articles and old home videos shed light on the profound impact the organization has had on the community over their 35-year history. It became clear that there was a bigger story to tell here that couldn’t be told in a mere 10 minutes.

Pitching the Idea.

Excited by the potential, Vers proposed the idea of creating a full-length documentary for NLS. Despite the departure from the initial scope of work, our long history with NLS as a client gave us the confidence to suggest a bold new direction. And because trust in the creative partnership had been established for so long, NLS gave us the green light and funding to extend the project, giving us the freedom to delve deeper into their story.

Execution and Impact.

With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high production standards, we embarked on the journey of crafting a documentary that would not only showcase NLS' origins and mission but also serve as a testament to the organization’s credibility and impact. The resulting documentary not only captured their passion for the mission but also captured attention, as it was aired on broadcast TV, amplifying NLS' reach beyond expectations.

Measurable Success.

Even before its broadcast, the documentary began generating tangible results. NLS reported receiving a $1,000 donation attributed directly to the awareness created by the documentary. Furthermore, the documentary's nomination and win at a prestigious festival provided NLS with invaluable opportunities for networking and engagement, reinforcing their presence and influence within the community.

Reflections and Lessons Learned.

This project is an example not only of the power of storytelling and the value of investing in a larger narrative but also of the importance of trust between client and agency. While the decision to expand the project may have incurred additional costs, the returns in terms of awareness, credibility, and connections far outweighed the investment. By embracing the opportunity to share their story on a larger scale, NLS not only elevated their profile but also cemented their position as a beacon of hope and support for those in need.

Want to Tell Your Story?

What began as a simple 10-minute video evolved into a powerful documentary, leaving an indelible mark on both NLS and the community they serve.
